With the increase in research output and the need for future development, the College has adjusted its position from "teaching-oriented and research-assisted" in the past decade to "teaching-oriented, develop teaching and research simultaneously". Currently, the College's teaching and research staff are divided into three research groups according to their professional backgrounds and research interests, namely "Nursing Profession and Education Research Group", "Health of Child and Community's Research Group", and "Adult and Older Person's Research Group". The Nursing & Health Education Research Centre serves as a platform for the College's research, with research focusing on the areas of dementia care, palliative and end-of-life care, life and death education, adolescent health, nursing manpower planning, and teaching of simulation, and the results of the research have contributed to the promotion of public health and the development of nursing profession. The impact of the research results on promoting public health and professional development of nursing has been recognized by various sectors of the community. In line with the policy objectives of the Macao SAR Government, the College will step up its efforts to promote the transfer of research results and the development of industry-academia-research. By strengthening collaboration with local and overseas tertiary institutions, professional bodies and medical institutions, the College will initiate high-level cross-regional and cross-disciplinary research with greater impact, and will actively produce evidence-based knowledge and transform its research results into actions that are beneficial to individuals, their families and the community.
