On 3rd September 2025, the 80th anniversary of the victory in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression by the Chinese People and the World Anti-Fascist War proceeded as scheduled. At this moment of great historical significance, the Macao SAR Government organised the “'Live Streaming: Commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the Victory in the World Anti-Fascist War”' event. Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau (KWNC) actively responded to the call and organised its teachers and students to participate in the event. Together with the residents of Macao, they deeply appreciated the great dedication of the revolutionary martyrs in the reverberation of history.
On the day of the event, teachers and students of KWNC, together with representatives from various sectors, gathered at the University of Macau, the Macau Polytechnic University and the Macao Science Center to watch the live broadcast of the ‘80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War’ held in Beijing. In the solemn and enthusiastic atmosphere of the venue, all teachers and students listened attentively to the important speech delivered by Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), and watched the grand parade ceremony to remember history, honour the martyrs, cherish peace and create the future. Teachers and students were filled with pride and respect as they watched the majestic images on the screen. They know that the peace and tranquillity of today is the result of the blood and lives of countless revolutionary martyrs and must be cherished.
To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, KWNC has launched a series of colourful commemorative activities since August.
In mid-August, the College organised the ‘Soul of the Doctor of Macao, Monument of Resistance War - Illustration Exhibition of the Life of Ke Lin’. Dr Ke Lin, a renowned medical educator and revolutionary in China, made significant contributions to the country and the nation during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. The illustration exhibition showed the life story and noble spirit of Ke Lin through a vivid picture, which enabled teachers and students to have a deeper understanding of that period of history.
During the same period, the College organised a trip to Guangzhou to visit alumni of the war hero Tsang Wan. During the visit, teachers and students had a cordial interview with alumnus Tsang Wan. Teachers and students were deeply moved by alumnus Tsang Wan's recollections of her anti-Japanese experiences, the brutality of the war and the bravery of the revolutionary martyrs. The visit allowed them to learn about the history of the Anti-Japanese War, to feel the anti-Japanese spirit of the alumni, and to strengthen their determination to pass on their patriotic sentiments.
On 30th September, KWNC will hold a series of colourful activities. These include historical lectures, inviting experts and scholars as well as descendants of alumni of the anti-Japanese war to give teachers and students an in-depth explanation of the historical background, process and significance of the anti-Japanese war so that they can have a more comprehensive understanding of that part of the history; the National Day Parade, which is to create a joyful and peaceful festive atmosphere through a variety of interesting games and activities so that teachers and students can feel the country's prosperity and prosperity in a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere; and the singing activity which is to express the memory of the revolutionary martyrs through the songs. Lastly, the singing activity expressed the feelings of nostalgia for the revolutionary martyrs and the good wishes for the great motherland through songs.
