On 22 November 2025, Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau (KWNC) President Van Iat Kio and Assistant Professor Wong Choi Peng, Deputy Executive Officer of Education Department, travelled to Hangzhou to attend the Fourth Zhejiang First Hospital Nursing Theory Forum hosted by First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine (FAHZU). President Van delivered a presentation titled ‘The More Advanced the Technology, The More Critical Character Education Becomes’, emphasising that nursing education in the era of artificial intelligence must integrate technological literacy with the core principle of compassionate care.
To further enhance clinical teaching quality and strengthen students' practical skills, the College formally signed a clinical learning cooperation agreement with FAHZU. Both parties will collaborate in nursing talent cultivation, scientific research, and academic exchanges.
Following the forum, President Van and her delegation held a symposium with students currently undertaking placements at the hospital and visited student accommodation to inquire about their academic and living conditions. Students reported that through systematic placements at the hospital, they not only experienced the professional warmth of clinical nursing across regions but also gained a profound appreciation for the value of nursing work – a truly invaluable experience.
This visit to Hangzhou successfully expanded the College's clinical teaching bases within the Yangtze River Delta region and actively promoted collaboration and integration in nursing education between the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Yangtze River Delta region.
