On the morning of May 8, 2026, Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau (KWNC) held a flag-raising ceremony and a briefing session on the spirit of the Two Sessions. Through thematic presentations, the event deepened faculty and students’ understanding of the nation’s development direction and further cultivated nursing professionals with a sense of patriotism and a commitment to their mission.

The event commenced with a solemn flag-raising ceremony. Led by Lau Veng Seng, Chair of the College Council, all faculty and students stood at attention to pay respects to the national flag. As the national anthem played and the flag was raised, the atmosphere was solemn and reverent, further strengthening the sense of national identity and responsibility among the participants. This was followed by a briefing on the spirit of the Two Sessions, featuring special presentations by Chui Sai-peng, a National People’s Congress (NPC) deputy from the Macao region, and Chen Jimin and Wong Kit-cheng, members of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) from the Macao region. They provided in-depth, multi-faceted interpretations of the spirit of the Two Sessions and the nation’s development direction, helping faculty and students gain a comprehensive understanding of the blueprint for the 14th Five-Year Plan and related strategic deployments.

Chui Sai-peng, a NPC deputy from the Macao delegation, began by discussing the national governance system. He systematically introduced the historical origins and institutional significance of the Two Sessions, helping faculty and students gain a comprehensive understanding of the operation of China’s system of people’s congresses and the political consultation system.

Chen Jimin, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) representing Macao, interpreted the spirit of the Two Sessions from a macro perspective, focusing on the strategic directions outlined in the Government Work Report. She noted that the report closely aligns with the launch of the 15th Five-Year Plan, making systematic arrangements across economic development, technological innovation, and improvements in people’s livelihoods.

Wong Kit-cheng, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) representing the Macao region, focused on the medical and nursing sectors. Drawing on the national “Healthy China” strategy, she elaborated on the far-reaching impact of relevant policies on the industry’s development. She noted that in recent years, the country has continuously optimized the healthcare system, emphasizing the decentralization of resources, service coordination, and quality improvement, thereby providing crucial support for the development of the nursing profession. At the same time, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is deepening medical cooperation, actively promoting the cross-border mobility of nursing talent, mutual recognition of qualifications, and standardization of services, thereby fostering the complementary use of medical resources and coordinated development.
