On 22 May 2026, Director Yang Jiaying of the Shanghai Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau led a six‑member delegation, together with guests including Deputy Director Chan Chi Wai of the Macau Labour Affairs Bureau, on a visit to Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau (KWNC). The College, led by Vice‑President Leong Sok Man and her team, warmly received the delegation. Both sides held in‑depth exchanges on nursing education, elderly care workforce training, and vocational skills certification.

At the meeting, participants exchanged views on curriculum development mechanisms and discussed how to build curriculum systems that closely align with industry needs and respond to social development trends, ensuring nursing education keeps pace with the times. On employment prospects for nursing graduates, the College presented the current status and development trends of Macao’s nursing labour market, as well as the nurse registration system and continuing professional development requirements. Regarding training pathways for older adult care workers and industry development, both sides shared practical experiences in establishing training systems and meeting the rapidly growing care demands of an ageing society. Attendees also explored the feasibility of integrating general and vocational education into nursing (職普融通) to provide prospective nursing students with more diverse learning and career pathways.

The College highlighted the Guangdong‑Hong Kong‑Macao “One Examination, Three Certificates” skills assessment project (older adult care sector), explaining its operational mechanism and rollout. Launched at the College in 2025, the project made the College the first assessment centre in Macao for older adult care under the “One Examination, Three Certificates” arrangement, allowing candidates to obtain regionally recognized older adultcare certificates for Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao through a single assessment—thereby promoting regional recognition and mobility of skilled workers. The College also briefed guests on its preparations for the 48th WorldSkills Competition in the “Health and Social Care” category. Commissioned by the Labour Affairs Bureau as the Macao representative for this competition category, the College is actively conducting athletetraining and skills enhancement.

After the meeting, the delegation toured the Objective Structured Clinical ExaminationCentre and nursing laboratories. The simulation equipment and systematic assessment facilities on display demonstrated the College’s rigorous standards and capabilities in professional nursing training and assessment, leaving a strong impression on the visitors.
