First Experience of Nursing: Shadow Nursing Programme
Purpose of the programme
In order to enable the first year students to enter the nursing profession faster and better, we encourage them to take the role of "observer" in the first semester of the programme before the formal arrangement of clinical learning, to carry out clinical observation in different shifts under the guidance of hospital nurses, in order to get to know nursing as early as possible, and to set a better direction for their future learning.
 
Contents
1. Observe the role of nurses;
2. Observe the work of nurses;
3. To understand the communication skills of different roles, including: physician and nurse, nurse and patient,
nurse and other staff;
4. To observe the ward environment.
 
Target
First year students of Bachelor of Science in Nursing Programme, who choose to attend on a voluntary basis.
 
Lecturers
Nurses from Kiang Wu Hospital, nurses with clinical teaching appointment or nurses who are listed on the Nursing Preceptor.
